7 tricks for better memory

If you want to keep yourself in the best shape possible, you should take care of not only the health of your body, but also of your mind. After all, the brain tends to get “lazy” just moments after we leave school for good. Thus, some people experience memory problems even before the age of thirty.

1. Exercise your memory

There are a number of simple and more complicated exercises. Some can be practiced over an extended period of time, gradually increasing in difficulty. Try reading a short text. Afterwards, review what you have memorised. Read it again and try to remember as many sentences as possible as they are in the text. Over the next few days, add to their quantity or complexity.

Memorizing words is also a very good exercise. Start with 4-5 words and add one each day.

2. Solve and unscramble

One great way to relax while strengthening your memory is by doing crossword puzzles or solving sudoku. You’ll practise your vocabulary, logical thinking and concentration. Look for new activities to think about. When “exercise” becomes comfortable and easier to manage, its effect fades.

3. Learn new words

Expand your vocabulary, improve your speech and other communication skills. Although it may seem strange to you, we should work on them all our lives. Give yourself a challenge – learn the meaning and use of a new vocabulary word every day. Or just try reading a good book on a subject you haven’t tackled before; for example, more technical literature, there are plenty of options.

4. Learn a foreign language or play a musical instrument

Do you dream of finally learning Italian? Have you been longing to play the guitar at the next barbecue for years? Hooray for that! All the new stimuli will stimulate your memory skills to the max.

5. Explore and try new things

Take a weekend trip to a new place! Sometimes you just need to look around. Visit a cultural or natural landmark. Break out of your comfort zone and go to a restaurant you’ve never been to before. If you like to spend your summer holidays by the sea, set aside at least one day for a day trip of sightseeing.

6. Treat yourself to a good night’s sleep

It’s common knowledge that our brains work well at night. This is also when memory sorts and stores all the stimuli collected during the day. Quality sleep promotes concentration and thinking, or the ability to remember faster and longer.

7. Eat well for the brain

For the brain to function effectively, a nutritious diet is essential. Vitamin E is important, as it acts as a powerful antioxidant and helps prevent dementia. You’ll also find it in our dietary supplement Carnosine EXTRA, which also contains other beneficialcarnitine, coenzyme Q10, blueberry and grape extracts.
