How to deal with aggression in children?
And it has been preserved in each of us to this day, but always to a different degree. Its level is influenced, for example, by the specific situation, resistance to negative influences and the general state of society. However, if you feel that there is more than enough aggressive behaviour around us, you are not wrong. What is more, it is also increasingly common in young children.
Aggressive behaviour can be called pathological if it is excessively destructive and dangerous to the child or his/her surroundings. It is also important to distinguish between aggression and aggressiveness – the basic difference is precisely the duration of such behaviour. Aggression is a transient state that children ‘use’ to force attention or to obtain an object (e.g. a toy). If a child has a constant urge to react in an exaggerated, aggressive manner, this is aggressive behaviour as a character trait.
The causes of pathological aggression in children can generally be divided into external and internal causes. Among the external ones, experts point to unfavourable family, economic and social conditions, incorrect behavioural patterns in parents or in the environment, post-traumatic stress; last but not least, the influence of society. Internal factors include, in particular, psychiatric illnesses or genetic predispositions. Aggressive behaviour is thus characteristic of children with learning disabilities, ADHD or hyperactivity.
If a child behaves aggressively, the really unfortunate solution is just physical punishment. Although it may help at first, it is only temporary; later on it will provoke exactly the opposite reaction – the child will be ‘encouraged’ to behave aggressively and the level of aggressive behaviour will increase considerably.
The foundation should be the creation of a peaceful environment where the child grows up. Parents should show the child how to resolve conflicts calmly, with respect and dignity, not only in relation to each other, but also in relation to the environment.
The right role models and examples, with whom the child grows up and matures, are also a solution.
In the case of pathological aggression caused by genetics or psychiatric illness, its alleviation requires the help of a professional in addition to parental support and care. For attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD syndrome, the use of the nutritional supplement Carnosine EXTRA can help to reduce aggression.
The body’s own substance , carnosine, has a significantly positive effect in autistic disorders, relieving symptoms of aggression and hyperactivity and supports the proper functioning of the central nervous system, which was proven in a study by Dr. Cheza in 2002.
Carnosine EXTRA, with its unique composition, ensures the release of the active substance carnosine for 8-12 hours.
