Coenzyme Q10 benefits not only the skin

Every woman is familiar with the substance coenzyme Q10. Various cosmetic products often boast that it is found in them. But what is coenzyme Q10? What effects does it have on the body? Is it really that important? Where can we get it from? If you don’t know the answers, we’ll be happy to tell you in the following lines.

Substance, vitamin, antioxidant

These three words could be used to describe coenzyme Q10 in a nutshell. In more professional circles, it is also known as ubiquinone and its properties are similar to vitamins. However, it also acts as a free radical-protecting antioxidant – like vitamin E, for example – but its effects are more pronounced. It protects the body at a cellular level, as it is found in every single cell in the body. However, if we are deficient in it, harmful substances accumulate and a number of health problems can arise.

Protects health and beauty

Apart from its role as an antioxidant, it has many other roles. Coenzyme Q10 is also a kind of energy source for organs that use more of it to function, such as the brain, heart, liver or lungs. The properties of coenzyme Q10 prevent the onset of diseases such as angina, heart attack or heart failure; however, it is also recommended for a faster recovery after their eventual overcoming. In addition to protecting the cardiovascular system, it also helps:

  • prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s disease,
  • protect against viruses and dangerous micro-organisms in the body,
  • treat the cause of bleeding gums,
  • maintain proper blood pressure values,
  • relieve allergy symptoms.

As we mentioned in the introduction, it is mostly discussed in relation to its cosmetic and aesthetic effects. As a powerful antioxidant, it prevents the formation of wrinkles and premature skin ageing, which is often caused by free radicals, thecaused by various external factors (increased sun exposure, smog and air pollution, cigarette smoke, etc.).).

In order to have enough of it

Coenzyme Q10 can be obtained from suitable foods: meat – pork, beef, fish; vegetables – broccoli, spinach, beans, tomatoes; fruits – blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, grapes, nuts. However, the optimal dose of coenzyme Q10 can also be found in the dietary supplement Carnosine EXTRA. Together with another powerful antioxidant – carnosine – you will provide your body with protection against freeradicals, slow down the aging process, the formation of wrinkles, or more easily cope with recovery after illness or injury. You can order it in our shop.
