The active ingredient was first discovered in the late 1950s by Slovak scientist Prof. RNDr. Katarína Horáková, DrSc., who studied the anticancer effects of natural sulforaphane on human cancer cells in vitro conditions.
Sulforaphane is found in broccoli, has physiological benefits, and provides protection against chronic diseases. In broccoli, it exists in the form of glucoraphanin. To utilize its effects, the presence of the enzyme myrosinase is necessary, which converts glucoraphanin into sulforaphane in the body and allows its benefits to be used.
